Our Story

Let’s not pretend a movie narrator is telling our story in the 3rd person. I’m telling the story. I’m Jeff. My partner is John. We have known each other for over 25 years. As kids he always beat me in basketball…barely, but I am better looking so it all evens out. These are the chain of events that led to us founding Trigger Path.
John is a Geek
John is a mechanical engineer with an MBA that went on to work many glorious years for IBM. He was good at it, on the path to the corner office…then disaster struck…he chose to travel the world…indefinitely. Then more disaster, he met a pretty girl and followed her to South America. They got married on two continents (overkill if you ask me). On one of those continents I made a failed wedding speech in Spanish which was thankfully not recorded. Â La vida es buena.

Jeff is Awesome
I’ve been a marketing man, for better or worse, throughout my entire life. The kind of kid that sold the magazines in school…embarrassing really. After all my book learnin’ I met a beautiful girl from Ohio, chased her in Chicago, proposed to her in the middle of nowhere in the California mountains and moved with her to Denver. In between we traveled the world, ate questionable food and added a dog and 2 kids to our traveling road show. Life is good.

The More Things Change The More They _________
The thing is, I didn’t really like working for big marketing agencies, making other big companies look good. So after some stints in other businesses I ended up learning about this Internet fad. For quite a while now I have been applying this internet thing to help local businesses. After all, my Dad has been a local businessman for 30+ years.
Strangely, John had the same itch. He worked for ‘The Man’, but now he wanted to apply his knowledge to help local businesses make the Internet work for them. And if you can believe it, his Dad was a local businessman in the same industry as mine, insurance. How did the two of us escape being insurance agents?
The short of it? We were raised by local business folks, now we help local businesses. Do I hear Elton John singing ‘The Circle of Life’?
The other short of it? The internet is a marketing and customer experience vehicle for your business that should be making you more money. That is our singular goal for all of our clients. Not rankings, not exposure….just making them more money.
